Chad Fuqua

January 14, 1968 - August 18, 2008

Chad Alan Fuqua, 40 of Hollister, MO was killed by a drunk driver August 18, 2008. Chad was on his motorcycle when he was killed by a drunk driver in a two-ton Hummer!

Chad was born, in Hannibal Missouri.

Chad is the son of Vonnie Fuqua-Mathiesen, Chad was Vonnie's only child.

He grew up in Marshall, MO, where he graduated from Marshall High School in 1986 and attended Missouri Valley College.

He served his country for 10 years in the National Guard.

He moved to Hollister about 16 years ago, where he was the parks director for the city.

He was extremely proud of Hollister Town Square, the park he helped dedicate recently.

He will be remembered for his talent with parks, his love of motorcycles, and his companionship with his black lab, Pepper.

One month before he was killed Chad proudly attended the dedication of Town Hall Square Park that he developed and constructed as Hollister Parks Director. After his tragic death caused by a drunk driver the City of Hollister renamed this park Chad A Fuqua Memorial Park.

Chad's sign is in Hollister, MO on Business 65 near the Spirits Shop in Hollister.
